I frequently receive questions like, “What should I feed my puppy? What do you suggest?” My approach has always involved thoroughly researching dog foods, particularly focusing on the first few ingredients. I was advised that these are crucial, with meat ideally being listed first. Additionally, I evaluated the guaranteed analysis of the food. Initially, we used NutriSource Dog Food but later discovered Life’s Abundance Dog Food. After reviewing the exceptional quality, stringent standards, and positive feedback from both customers and field representatives, we chose to switch to Life’s Abundance Nutritional System and Agility Formula. At My Heartland Kennels our goal is to enhance the Doberman and Doberdane breed and provide our clients with beautiful, healthy, and affectionate puppies that they can cherish for many years.

Life’s Abundance original formulater was Dr. Jane Bicks, DVM, a holistic veterinarian with decades of experience. Dr. Bicks has held numerous prestigious positions, including President of the American Veterinarian Association of New York City, and has received three Presidential Citations. She was also appointed by Mayor Rudolph Giuliani to help establish one of the world’s largest animal shelters. Additionally, she is an accomplished author of three books on pet care and has appeared on major media platforms such as 48 Hours, Good Morning America, CNN, Discovery Channel, and Animal Planet. Dr. Bicks also runs a non-profit foundation that supports pet rescue and care, with a portion of her product line’s proceeds going to this cause.

I was deeply impressed by Dr. Bicks’ credentials and the history of pet food. Initially, pet food was developed around World War II using leftover grains unfit for human consumption. It became apparent that grains alone did not provide sufficient nutrition, leading to the inclusion of protein sourced from rejected meats and animals deemed unsuitable for human consumption, including those that were dead, diseased, or drugged.

Interestingly, our pets have the potential to live up to 20 years, yet the average lifespan is currently 13-15 years. While various factors contribute to a pet’s longevity, such as environment and healthcare, nutrition plays a critical role. Many modern pet foods contain ingredients like wheat, corn, and soy, which can stress kidney and liver functions and are also common allergens. Moreover, by-products such as chicken heads, duck bills, fish heads, and contaminated meat can be included in pet food. Additives like BHA, BHT, and Ethoxyquin, which are used to extend shelf life, can harm our pets’ health and are known carcinogens.

We now feed our dogs Life’s Abundance Nutritional System and Agility Formula, and we raise our puppies on this food to promote their health and longevity. My Heartland Kennels is so confident in Life’s Abundance Dog Food & Supplements that we offer a 3 year health guarantee when maintained on this Nutritional System. For more information, click here.
